About

The Mystic Adventure was founded by Dr. Tarek Halabi on December 23, 2021 in Chicago, Illinois, USA, to commemorate the first anniversary of the physical departure of his beloved mentor and father-in-law, Dr. Ishwar Puri Ji.

Tarek met Ishwar Ji in 1991 at Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa. He then received the spiritual initiation of Surat Shabd Yoga from Ishwar Ji on April 2, 1995 in Bruce, Wisconsin. Etymologically, Surat Shabd Yoga means Union of the Human Soul with the Absolute Supreme Being. It is the Yoga of Light and Sound.

The personal relationship between Ishwar Ji and Tarek has significantly progressed throughout the years. In 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Tarek married Ulka, Ishwar Ji’s eldest daughter. In 2003 in Dallas, Texas, Sonia, Ishwar Ji’s granddaughter, was born.

The Mystic Adventure profoundly explores true spirituality, and it deeply studies authentic mysticism. The Perfect Living Master is an absolute requirement for any real spiritual endeavor. In fact, the Perfect Living Master has a role of paramount importance: To conduct spiritual initiation for genuine seekers of the ultimate truth in order for them to start the spiritual journey from the Physical World to the True Home.

To gradually build on the daily meditation practice, the individuals must be lacto-vegetarians, and they must abstain from intoxicants, to include alcohol, tobacco, and recreational drugs. A lacto-vegetarian diet encourages compassion and empathy for all living beings, and it acknowledges that there is a karma to be settled for consuming animal flesh. Refraining from intoxicants substantially improves one’s ability to mentally concentrate, and it significantly calms the mind during meditation. Individuals firmly commit themselves to a harmonious lifestyle that supports spiritual progress while fulfilling their worldly responsibilities to family, friends, community, and society.

The spiritual journey is a path of pure love. It is completely open to all human beings. There are no rites, communions, ceremonies, and hierarchies. There are no mandatory contributions, monthly subscriptions, ritual gatherings, and customary practices. Individuals certainly do not need to give up either their cultural identity or their religious preference to follow the spiritual path. The Mystic Adventure does not involve itself in the personal and professional lives of the individuals.
